EAA Compliance Sprints for SMB Web Shops
Productized accessibility audits + fixes now that the European Accessibility Act is enforceable.
Overview
Since June 2025, the European Accessibility Act applies to most consumer-facing digital services selling into the EU — including e-commerce shops far below enterprise size. Enforcement and first penalty waves are ramping through 2026, and hundreds of thousands of shops are non-compliant without knowing it.
The play is a productized service, not a tool: a fixed-price 'compliance sprint' (automated scan + expert manual audit + prioritized fixes on the shop's actual theme), sold per shop with an ongoing monitoring retainer. Agencies do this at €10k+; the gap is the €1.5–3k fixed-scope offer for Shopify/WooCommerce SMBs, marketed in plain language to non-technical owners.
The problem
SMB shop owners selling into the EU are legally exposed under the EAA but can't parse WCAG jargon, don't know if they're affected, and can't afford enterprise accessibility agencies.
Who has this problem
EU-market Shopify/WooCommerce/Shopware merchants with €200k–€10M revenue; secondarily the web agencies that maintain their shops (white-label channel).
Why now
The EAA became applicable June 28, 2025. Grace periods are expiring, member states are staffing enforcement, and the first fines are generating press — the classic compliance-deadline demand spike, still early.
Competition landscape
Accessibility overlay widgets (accessiBe etc.) are cheap but legally insufficient and increasingly sued; traditional a11y agencies are expensive and enterprise-focused. The fixed-price SMB middle is genuinely underserved, especially with e-commerce-platform-specific expertise.

Signalist verdict
Compliance deadlines are the most reliable demand generator in B2B. This scores high on monetization (legal fear converts) and feasibility (services need no product build). The constraint is founder expertise — you need real WCAG competence or a partner who has it. Excellent cash-flow business; moderate scalability until white-labeled.

Verify the demand yourself — these are the surfaces where it's visible.
